In 2002 we ran away from Illinois where we were born and raised, and started a new life in SW Florida. This blog is about me (an eccentric old artist), ROM (my Real Old Man), Isabella (our neurotic Standard Poodle) and Emmy (our crazy snake killing Jack Russell Terrier). Oh- and the neighborhood old people. Life is good in Florida!

Storm Clouds, Isabella's Binkies, and Naked Man

Storm clouds moved in yesterday afternoon and I had high hopes my parched crispy brown lawn would be getting lots of rain to bring it back to life.

As the sky darkened, I gave Isabella her Xanax and waited for the rain to start...

All we ended up getting was a lot of wind and about a half hour of light rain- damn! Most of the rain went north of us and up around the Tampa area. After the brief storm was over, Bella soothed herself suckling  her Little Puppy. She has two in case one goes missing. Little Puppy was one of her first toys when she was a little puppy and she got into the habit of nursing on the nose part. She'll soon be 6 and has had numerous Little Puppies that have wore out over the years. Though she doesn't have much interest in toys as she's gotten older, she still loves her Little Puppy. Emmy, the Jack Russell Terrier adores all toys, but she knows better than to mess with Isabella's Little Puppies and never touches them. Evidently she and Bella have an understanding that Little Puppy is off limits.

I laughed so hard at a local  news story I read yesterday- "Deputies: Naked man just wanted to feel free. Sheriff's deputies say a naked man who danced along a sidewalk while listening to his iPod told them he just wanted to feel free." I guess it's not just my neighborhood where one can see naked people running down the street.
